In QSKing 5D, Run QTO works as described in 4.1, with one extra step first: linking the IFC models.
1. Link the models
- File → New creates a project and opens Manage Links by itself (or click Links → Manage Links).
- For each discipline (Architectural, Structural, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing), click Load From… and pick the consultant’s IFC file. Leave disciplines you do not have empty.
- Click OK. The models load one after another; the status bar shows the progress and the 3D view shows them together.
2. Run QTO
Click Extraction → Run QTO. It opens the same Run Quantity Takeoff dialog as in Revit: model phase, model maturity, measurement standard, the element categories and the derived items (QS rules). Tick what you need and click Run. The ticks, maturity and standard are saved in the project.
When it finishes, the QTO Complete box shows how many elements were measured, how long it took and any warnings, and the QTO Schedule fills. Wall, floor and ceiling finishes are measured room by room from the 3D geometry, with the same rules as QSKing QTO for Revit.
3. When a new revision arrives
- Links → Manage Links: use Load From… to pick the new file for that discipline, or Reload if it was replaced under the same name.
- Click Re-run on the QTO Schedule. It measures again with the same choices and reports what is new, modified and removed.
- Links → Revisions keeps the register of every issue and what it changed. Exported BQs state the model revisions they are based on.
Then
Link the quantities to the Workbook and export the BQ exactly as in 4.0, 4.2 and 4.3. Those screens are the same in both editions.
